“A Starter Kit for Lawyer Well-Being: Living with Intention - A Journey in Mindfulness”

This event will be presented via Zoom. REGISTER HERE. Speakers Kim Milone, CM, CMI, Esq. and Sheila M. Wilkinson, LMSW, Esq. will guide Louisiana Attorneys through an inquisitive and interactive foundational primer of lawyer well-being focused on living with intention, guiding participants on a journey of mindfulness. Approved for 1 Professionalism CLE

Participants will actively engage in this CLE through a number of mechanisms, including:

  • Completing an initial gut check-in activity targeted toward helping participants (re)focus their attention and to shift from work-mode to explore-mode

  • Learning from Speakers’ personal and professional journeys and ebbs and flows of health and wellness throughout their combined 25+ years in the legal industry

  • Exploring four facets of health, with actionable items to improve their quality of life

  • Understanding the role expectations play in their day-to-day and how to manage them

  • Differentiating between boundaries, procrastination, and delay, and learning how to distinguish them in their practical application

  • Completing five (5) guided mindfulness activities, created specifically for this CLE, at the end of each segment to encourage attendees to explore their current physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, and overall health, and what they want that health to look like in the future. Where appropriate, the exercises may be modified as appropriate for accessibility and mobility limitations. Those activities are:

    • Opening the Mind - Mindfulness Activity #1

    • Physical Health - Mindfulness Activity #2

    • Mental and Emotional Health - Mindfulness Activity #3

    • Intellectual Health - Mindfulness Activity #4

    • Community Health - Mindfulness Activity #5

  • Ending the CLE with a simple yet effective intention-setting activity, allowing them the space and agency to decide how they plan to support their health going forward.

The CLE will end with open Q&A. In addition to the CLE Workbook, Participants will be provided with personalized thank you pages that provide additional information, opportunities to learn and apply, and links to resources to bolster their experience after the CLE.

This CLE will be flexible, engaging, and conversational, with consistent encouragement to ask questions and get answers live. Ms. Milone and Ms. Wilkinson will facilitate exercises and discussion from their extensive experience, training, and knowledge, and will teach proven methods for improving wellness, health, and stress management in the legal profession.
