The 2022 Annual Meeting will take place August 25, 2022 at the Four Seasons Hotel, New Orleans. Our speaker, David McCraw of the New York Times Company, will give a keynote address and our chapter will further honor our members, award winners for 2021 and 2022, and our new 2022-2023 FBA-NO and YLD Board of Directors Members

When a lawsuit is filed in state court but federal court is a proper forum, defendants often prefer to remove the case.  According to 28 U.S.C. § 1441, “any civil action brought in a State court of which the district courts of the United States have original jurisdiction, may be removed by the defendant or the defendants, to the district court of the United States for the district and division embracing the place where such action is pending.”

The 2021-2022 Board took an in-person photo at the annual federal judge’s reception. The Board had previously been unable to take a photo together due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
